O Come O Come Emmanuel
This late-intermediate / early-advanced piano arrangement begins with a distant call, as if church bells are ringing across the land. This specific sound is built on open fourths and open sixths using the diatonic members of the E minor natural scale. Also, to create that cloud of overtones, you must hold the pedal down and let all the harmonies clash against each other (just like real bells would sound like in the atmosphere). It will sound wonderful if played on an acoustic piano, but you'll get a decent sound from a keyboard as well (like I did in the video recording below). The general feel of this arrangement is that of anticipation and wonder, making this the perfect hymn piano arrangement for the Advent / Christmas season.
